Boy's Nursery Ideas  by Cooper Watson

A bouncing baby boy is on his way and he's going to be the joy of your life! It's time to create a wonderful space for your
little one.  All it takes is your imagination and a theme. There are many nursery ideas out there that can be a bit
overwhelming to pull off.  The following themes can easily be adapted to your tastes, making sure that your baby's first
room is as vibrant as you want it to be.

  Characters

Popular programs like Winnie The Pooh, Sesame Street,
The Backyardigans, Blues Clues, and Bob The Builder have
bedding sets and accessories that can make decorating a
nursery a bit simpler.  Use stencil artwork to add accents
and pick paint colors that work well with the main themes
of the childrens shows. To learn how to paint murals please
  visit our nursery murals page.

Sports

If you are a sports fan or simply want to add an exciting backdrop to your little boy's room, a sports
theme will do just that. You can use sports like Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, and Tennis.
Make sure to utilize pictures, banners, stencils, and pre-printed wall-papers in order to contribute
to the particular sports theme. Frame t-shirts and banners from your favorite team. Put up posters
of your favorite or iconic players.  This is one theme that gets most sports fanatics' creative juices
flowing so ask around.  One idea that I came across that I just love is an accent wall papered in
baseball cards.  Get creative and let your inner athlete out!

Animals

This theme could include teddy bears (a favorite), farm animals, puppies, kittens, horses, monkeys,
and frogs. Many of these  wonderful themes can easily be found in our Amazon store. You can buy
sheets and comforter sets as well as wall hangings and wall paper.  You can mix up the animals
for a jungle theme or keep it simple and use one. The main colors of the nursery can coincide with
the colors of the animals or coincide with the colors of the animals habitat.  Stuffed animals and
animal print nursery art can really take this nursery theme to the next level.

Underwater Scenes

If you want to add a refreshing and cool feeling to your son's room, an underwater theme will do the
trick. Soothing blue and mellow green paint colors will put your baby's room into a sea of calmness.
Have fun with sea shell and sea horse wall-hangings or maybe use a wave border that outlines the
room.  The sea is filled with all sorts of beautiful and magnificent things.  Bring them to life in your baby
boy's room.  Make sure that if you add sea shells and other beach finds that they are encased and out
of reach from your baby.

Organic Baby/Eco-Friendly

The future is looking green and your baby's room can be too. No, I'm not talking about just throwing
up some green paint and having a green nursery theme. I am talking about having an eco-friendly
nursery theme; environmentally friendly baby nursery ideas can be simple if you want them to be.
Use soft earth tones to start the nursery color's pallette (light and dark browns, leafy greens, and
soft greys); you can use  eco-friendly paint  (if you decide the nursery should be strictly
eco-friendly).  The bedding and characters in this nursery can be plants, animals, or sea creatures.
You can also use non-living things such as rocks, sand, soil, fruits, and vegetables. Mix and/or match
the characters to your hearts desire.  Think of all the wonderful things in the environment, find the
appropriate stencils (or go free hand for all you artists) and create your vision.

Whatever nursery ideas you come up with, have a blast making them come to fruition.  Love and
imagination are the key to making your baby boy's room just right.
